Screen capture

Jan 29, 2014

I have created my first screen capture. It is a one slide, 3 minute video.   I published it for the web.  I viewed it after I published it.  It needs some editing.  Once I have it right how do I get it to the web.  I didn't get an output file this time.  What kind of extension is the file going to have?  Will it all be html 5 code (one very long page?) that we ftp to our website and then anyone can access it?

Thanks in advance for explaining the whole process.

Hi there Allida!

First, congrats on completing your first screen capture!

I'm going to provide some tutorials that may help you get started with publishing and uploading your project:

Publishing and Sharing Articulate Storyline Content

Publishing a Project for Web - E-Learning Heroes

Articulate Support - How to upload published contentto a website

When you publish, your project will include multiple files. You'll need to upload all of those files to your web server, not just a single file. Once you've uploaded it, you'll be able to share either the story.html file or the story.html5 file - depending on which output type you'd like to use (Flash or HTML5).

If you're wanting to publish for HTML5, I would recommend keeping this chart handy:

Compare Storyline's Flash, HTML5 and ArticulateMobile Player output

I would definitely recommend reading over those articles I linked - they'll get you off to a good start and you're always welcome to come back with any other questions you may have.

I hope this helps! :)
