Screen Recording with Audio Issue Hearing Key Strokes?

Feb 10, 2015

Is there a solution so that when doing a screen recording with audio you won't also caputure the sound of your key strokes?  I want to use the Screen Recording feature in Storyline 2 with Audio but when I do you can hear my key strokes from the keyboard and it's very annoying.  Trying to think of a solution to be able to record the audio and not capture the key stroke noise.  I have trying to screen record with out the audio and then go back and insert the audio but there isn't a way I can see to watch the screen recording while recording the audio so you can get the timing right?... Any suggestions or out of the box thinking greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Denise G

Hi Denise,

Are you using an external microphone to conduct your recording or just using the built in mic within your laptop/desktop? I find that when I conduct recordings with an external mic (even just the mic and headphones that came with my iPhone) that it doesn't pick up any typing sounds - granted, if you're a very loud typer that may be different.

Hi Denise,

Thanks for sharing that here. You mentioned you'd like to record the audio separately and then the screen recording - you could do this to watch each if you did the recording in a separate instance of Storyline, (so have two open and running) and then you'd be able to import the audio or screen recording into the other file.
