Screencasts to be embedded into a slide in progress

HI:

I created a screen cast for a slide.  I want to embed the screen cast video into the middle of the slide.  It has no audio as audio is already embedded into the slide but the screencast will illustrate nicely what the audio is saying.  I read the tutorial on embedding screencasts and I cannot seem to do anything except insert the screencast into a new scene, or its own slide neither of which I am trying to do.  Any advice?  And can what I hope to do be done?
