Screencasts, Video, Storyline & PDFs

I'm trying to create an interactive PDF of sorts. Basically, it's a user guide that ought to have several screencasts embedded in it. This is fine, to a point.

However, I need the screencast to have the click sounds, the visual textboxes, a super large pointer - in short, all the things I can do if I use the Storyline screencast tool and import as slide by slide.

If I import as single slide (video), I cannot edit the video to add these things, but I can easily use the source MP4 file.

If I make the edits I want (boxes, clicks, etc) as slide-by-slide, I can't find a way to bring those back to one single video OR to export the slide-by-slide as any sort of movie file.

I really don't want to have to give up Storyline for Captivate after begging my organization to buy Storyline (to REPLACE Captivate). If there any possible to way to do this?

Hi Michelle,

If you wanted to use Storyline and insert as a step by step slide so that you could add the captions and clicks - you could then publishing the course and record it using a tool like Replay - which is free if you have a Storyline license.

Ashley - I just tried that and I'm told that there is a question of my eligibility. Since I purchased three licenses in July, I hardly find that to be true, but regardless (see attached screenshot). Suggestions?
