Several issues regarding HTML5 content on iPad

Nov 01, 2013

Hi,

We're experiencing intermittent issues with HTML5 content on iPad. They are as follows:

  1. The whole page sometimes flashes upon loading or during the animation of some of its elements;
  2. Answers don't show at all upon first visit of a question slide, but show on subsequent visits;
  3. Timings of animations do not match the timings set in storyline (for example if we stagger 4 answers to come in staggered at a quarter second, the answers come in at random intervals sometimes with intervals of several seconds). It feels as though the animations happen while the page contents are loading instead of after the whole page has loaded.

Any insights on any of these? By the way, none of these seem to be consistent issues so they might occur one time and then behave slightly different the next. Giving a really poor user experience and a pain to replicate and find solutions to.

Thank you.

Hi Kallidus,

1. I have seen reports of similar flicker issues, and in this scenario it was due to hiding layers that had existing animations.

2. The issue of answers disappearing on Question Slides in HTML5 output, is something that has been reported to our QA team and they're investigating. If you'd like to share your .story file for us to test as well, please send it along here.

3. Animations being out of sync is another issue that our QA team is looking into, and we've found that it's impacting the HTML5 output, but not if the course is accessed through the Articulate Mobile Player. Again, if you'd like to share your .story file to confirm that this is what you're encountering please feel free.
