Is it possible to make Storyline display only those shapes that have a normal state?
I have a drag and drop ex, where few shapes need to be dropped into a box. How can I track the shapes that I haven't dropped into the box and display only those shapes in the Incorrect feedback layer?
Without seeing your set up I'm unsure on what you're looking for. But if you don't want to see the states you have dropped already, what about including a trigger to change the state of your drag item X to hidden when its dropped on shape Y?
I will explain in detail. I have a drag-drop ex with Correct and Incorrect layers. It is not a scored ex. There are around 10 shapes (rectangular boxes with text) and a bigger box (named Customer), into which the shapes need to be dropped.
As per the ex, all the 10 shapes should be dropped into the bigger box. In case the learner leaves any box on screen (i.e. not dropped into the bigger box), I need to be able to pick only those shapes and display in the Incorrect layer.
How do i track the shapes that haven't been dropped into the bigger box?
As of now, I have given 2 states to the 10 shapes - a normal and a selected state. All the shapes dropped into the bigger box changes to selected and the remaining ones remain in the normal state. How do i get to display the normal state shapes in the Incorrect layer?
Have you set the layers up to hide the elements on the base layer? If not, you should be able to see the normal state of the objects as it hasn't changed - although it may be hidden behind elements from your "incorrect" layer that are appearing. If you're still having difficulty, could you share this slide from your .story file here with us?
I was able to display the normal states shapes in the Incorrect layer...I needed to use some boxes to hide the areas i didn't want to be displayed in the incorrect layer.
Thanks Ashley, your comment on hiding elements of the base layer gave me the idea.
I'm not sure which elements you needed to hide, but you can hide individual base layer elements by clicking the eye icon within the timeline of the layer to hide specific elements. I see looking at your file, that you wanted unselected ones (the normal state) to move location - and there isn't a way to move them, but it sounds like you've got something set up that'll work for you.
