Hi, we recently purchased an additional storyline license, for another department. I would like to know how I would open a file that was created by one of the licenses? If the other department created the file and published it, how would I open it with the other license of Storyline?
Thanks for your response....so as I understand it, the other developer will just need to copy the file to his local hard drive and then he can make any edits he wants, even though the file was originally created by me on my local hard drive...is that correct?
Excellent!!...did a "save as" on my file instead of publishing the file, copied it to the network, the other developer copied it to their local drive and then opened the file with their storyline software....worked perfectly!!

Hi Michelle,
If you're going to access a .story file, you'll want to follow the steps here for working collaboratively. If they've shared a published output with you, you won't need Storyline to view it - but you'll need access to the published output folder and want to view the story.html file and if possible test it within the intended publish environment.
The steps for working collaboratively are excellent and exactly what we do on our projects

Hi Michelle,
Correct - copy or save as to the local drive, before opening to edit it. You'll always want to work on project when on your local drive.
