SL3 - problem with result slide : infinity%

Jul 04, 2018

Hello,

I have a project with 8 question banks. The learner has to go through all of them as a final evaluation. Some questions within the banks are compulsory and others are chosen randomly.

I have a result slide after each question bank.

At the end, I have a final result slide that calculates results for the previous result slides.

My problem : on the final result slide, my score shows infinity%

Any idea on where the problem comes from ?

Thanks for your help!

Have a great day :)

Hi Thorsten,

Thanks for reaching out and letting us know what you are running into as well.

We do have an issue reported with users getting a score of Infinity% when the course is exited and resumed and the slide properties for the Result Slide is set to 'Reset to Initial State'.

Is that last setting true for your project as well? If so, you can adjust that to automatically decide and it should alleviate the issue.

Also, what version of Storyline are you using? I'd like to add this conversation to the report if that's what you're running into.

We are having this problem also, and it is causing some of our WBTs to fail testing as we go through conversion to Cornerstone LMS (testing includes exiting and resuming). I have tried various settings and am testing in SCORM cloud, but the issue seems to show up inconsistently-- other WBTs with the same settings are passing testing.

Welcome, Linda!

Sorry you've come across this roadblock. Just to be sure, do you run into the Infinity% score issue after changing the revisit behavior to Automatically Decide?

Also, with your permission, we'd like to have a closer look at one of the troublesome .story files. It'll help us see what's happening and we'll delete it after troubleshooting. If that works for you, you can send that Storyline file to us privately here. We'll test it in a similar environment and let you know what we find!

Hi Katie,

Thanks for your attention to this. It is correct that the Results slide is
set to Automatically Decide for the return state, and it was set this way
when the issue was found (I checked it after reading the thread).
I will upload using the private link.

Some things about the file:

- I'm not the original developer on this, but I am the person who is
troubleshooting all of the WBTs that fail testing for Cornerstone
conversion. We're down to our last two, so at least that is something.
- I'm attaching here the test results we received showing failure upon
return.
- This one originally had two Results slides-- one for the Practice test
and one for the Knowledge Assessment. It was clear that Cornerstone did not
like having two Results screens to read, even when I removed the Submit
trigger from the Practice test, so I removed the Practice Results
completely and just inserted a slide that says "Thank you for taking the
Practice Assessment" and a return button to the gate screen.

We're getting down to the wire on our LMS conversion, and I appreciate any
help you can give.
