Slide Layer Issue: Text box drops off at end of second layer timeline
Nov 26, 2018
This is my first time working with slide layers, so I suspect the issue I'm having is user error. The base layer plays with narration, and I've set up a trigger to show the second layer (also with narration) when the base layer reaches the end of its timeline. The second layer plays fine, but when I reach the end of the timeline on it, I noticed that one of the text boxes disappears. When I look at the construction of my slide timeline for the second layer, the text box runs all the way to the end of the slide duration, so I'm not sure why it is dropping off. I have another slide I built in the same manner and it's also behaving the same way. I'd like all of the text that's on the slide to persist when the timeline ends. I'm attaching a screenshot that hopefully helps show what's occurring.
Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks in advance for your help!

Does the textbox have an exit animation?
No, only entrance animation.
Hi Victoria,
Not sure if this might be your problem but... Does the text box that's disappearing have the little triangle at the end of its object in the timeline (as circled below)?
If it doesn't that means it's only set to the length of the timeline, and not to persist until you leave the slide. This an be fixed by right-clicking on the object and selecting Show until end.
Hi Shaun,
Thank you for your help! Your tip worked for one of the slides, but for the slide that has entrance animation with the text box, that one shows the little triangle at the end of its object in the timeline, yet the text still disappears.
Hi there, Victoria! This setup is working for me on my end. When all else fails, try rebuilding! Can you delete and rebuild that particular text box?
If that doesn't work, I'd be happy to have a look at your file. Use the Add Attachment button in the discussion, or you can use this link to send it to me privately.
Hi Crystal,
Thanks for your reaching out! I went ahead and rebuilt the text box and that seemed to work fine, must have just been a glitch. I appreciate your help!
Have a great rest of the day!
Victoria
