I have many slide layers where the learner clicks a smart shape on the base layer, opening each layer up. I don't want the base layer objects to appear on each slide layer so I checked "hide base layer objects". Each layer also has an audio track.
When I check "hide base layer objects"..the objects are hidden but the audio won't play. When I uncheck "hide base layer objects" I can see one image on the base layer and the audio will play.
I've checked to see if I accidentally selected the object on the base layer in the timeline to show but I didn't.
It looks like Ashraf's file works and I also set it to hide all the objects on the base layer for the correct feedback layer, and that worked normally and the audio still played. Can you take a look at that version and if you're still having difficulty share your .story file with us here?

why not put those audios on the layers?
Otherwise, you can add a trigger on the base layer "play media when user clicks a shape etc."

The audios are on each respective layer. They will not play though when I have "hide all base objects" for some odd reason.
That's strange. Look at this attachment where i tried to do what you are asking and it's working fine.
