Slide Notes as Slide Layer

Is it possible to populate a text box on a slide with the text from the slide notes tab? I don't want to use the built-in notes panel (you can only show it on the left, right, or top and I want the notes to show on the bottom of each slide). I'm currently using a scrolling text box on each slide to show slide captions. But since I also have to export the course to Word, I've got the same text in the notes tab for each slide. Ideally, I'd like to be able to use a variable or something that will just populate the text box on the slide with whatever is listed in the notes tab. Is this possible?
