Has anyone noticed that if you insert the slide number variable to insert slide numbers on each page, it extends the timeline to 74 seconds? This has happened on every slide the variable is on. Is there a way to move the timeline back without manually dragging the timeline on each slide as this is a pretty big course.
I suspect that it isn't so much the variable that you've added, but the text box that you placed on the slide to display the variable.
If you copy a layer or object from one slide to another, and the timeline is shorter that the slide that you copied the object from, Storyline will expand the timeline to the length of the object that you just pasted. So if you copy and pasted the page number from a slide that was 74 seconds to a slide with 5 seconds, your slide now magically has 74 seconds.
