Slide skipping forward - not sure why!

Jul 26, 2021

Hi community,

I'm working on a project and when previewing one of the scenes, when I reach a certain slide it skips right past it onto the next slide.

There are no triggers telling it to do so on the slide in question and I can't see anything else that would be causing it so I'm a bit stumped. It's a drag and drop slide so not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Is there anyone out there who'd mind taking a quick look for me? I'm sure it's something very simple for a pro!

Thanks

Tom

Hi, Tom,

Did you create the "bad" slide by copying another slide? Because it sounds like you encountered a known bug that adds a hidden "jump" trigger.

The bug -- and the fix -- are explained here:

Hi, Tom, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! ✨

As Judy mentioned above, this sounds like it could be connected to a bug reported where a Trigger to Jump to Next Slide when Timeline Starts is automatically added when duplicating Quiz Slides.

However, I'd like to confirm this is what's happening with your project. Would you be comfortable sharing your .story file either publicly here or privately through a support case?

Thanks so much Judy and Maria it's reassuring to know it's not me going mad!

I've removed the problem red arrow trigger from between the slides and it seems to be working fine.

It was indeed a duplicated slide. Will it help your dev team if I submitted the file?

Thanks again, Tom.

Hi Tom!

As promised, I'm returning with an update! We released a new update for Storyline 360 today. In Update 54 (Build 3.54.25674.0), we fixed the bug where when duplicating question slides or importing them from a template, a hidden trigger could get added to the slides, causing them to be skipped in the published output.

Now all you need to do is update Storyline 360 in your Articulate 360 desktop app! If you run into any issues, please don't hesitate to reach out for help in this discussion or a support case.
