Slider works until middle slide change

Hi there!
I was wondering if someone could help me figure out why my interactive works but when I use the slider, Stages 2 "Analytic Rationales" and 3 "Political Rationales" are almost impossible to get to stay on their slide and move on the first try. The layers keep jutting back and forth. Then when I try to move my slider back to its starting point the main layer refuses to show again.
I took a look at this discussion (https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/sliders-jumping) but all the resolutions seem to involve bringing the content player back to its original state. I need my player to be off so that I can embed it into a course. Does anyone know a way around this without changing the player back to its original settings?
I have attached the file for anyone to take a look at. Thanks a zillion for any help!

Have a look at the attached and see if that's closer to what you wanted. You had sliders on each layer, I simplified the setup so that there is only one slider on the baselayer. Also, the slider had one too many steps, I fixed that and removed duplicate textboxes from the layers too.
Wow, this is perfect... and thanks for the speedy reply, Michael! Next time I will totally keep this as a reference for keeping it simple, I over-complicated that by a long shot.
