Sophisticated Testing
Feb 08, 2017
I am trying to do something a bit sophisticated with my final learning check. I want to have one "general" pool of questions and multiple "title-specific" questions. Then I want the test to draw X random questions from the general pool, and Y random questions form a title-specific pool. The student would indicate their title as they begin the course.
I assume I would create a variable, which the student would set with an interaction (e.g., Student_Title="Sales"). But I don't know how to force the draw to draw from a second pool based on variable. Is this even possible?
Thanks!
Michel

Hi Michael
you might need extra variables to count the random draw questions and then from the general QB set up triggers to jump to 'Sales' QB when last general quiz question has been done on condition that variable xx=sales and general random draw = 5
I had thought of this - but my problem is that only one test can be reported
to the LMS from the e-learning module. Is there any way to do this within a
test?

I figured it would take variables - but my problem is reporting. The course can only be set to report on one test, and a test can only draw from one QB. How do I overcome this? Can I do the variables within a test? I'm not finding a way to insert those...
You are correct Michel.
Articulate Storyline lets you track a course either by the number of slides viewed or by a single quiz (result slide). Tracking both measurements for the same course isn't supported. Similarly, tracking multiple quiz scores in the same course isn't supported. However, you may be able to track more than one SCO (shareable content object) in a single course using one of the unsupported methods in this article.
The community may certainly be able to assist you in your set-up needs though.
