I have text input boxes on the base layer. If the learner has spelling/grammar mistakes - the squiggly red lines are coming though on the feedback layers. How do I prevent / remove this? See attachment
Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry that you ran into the red line for a spelling error coming through to a slide layer. We have reported it to our team as a bug, and continue to keep an eye on it to evaluate how many customers are impacted.
And Phil's correct, there's no workaround currently but to create a separate slide for your layer if that's possible for the interaction.
We'll be sure to jump in here when we have any progress to share!
Any way we can get a timeline when this is going to be fixed? I have an interactive video with multiple response. The lines pile up quick. Using the suggested work around I would have to make 24 slides instead of 1. Which means 24 separate closed captioning files.
It is currently in the early stages of our How We Tackle Bugs process. To help you plan, it's unlikely to be fixed in the next few updates, but we will update you on any changes!
In the meantime, we're happy to troubleshoot your project for any other tailored options. If you could share the .story file, please use this private upload link.
Hey guys, I have the same problem with the layers which is quite unfortunate since there are few scenarios that just cannot be replaced by adding additional slides instead of layers.
Is there any other option available for disabling the spellcheck for the learners altogether? At this point, it seems to be the best option to get rid of the red spelling error lines for good.
Thanks for contacting us and sharing that you're running into a similar issue. Our team is continuing to investigate, so I do not have any additional updates to share.
Hey team, I also had this bug and rolled back my Storyline to 3.37.216.14.0 and the problem went away. It also partially fixed another issue with pushing enter in a text box instead of 'submit' and a scrollbar would show in the base layer, along with those annoying red squiggly lines. Note the issue only appeared in Chrome and FireFox. Looks like a Storyline Update broke a few things. I'm just pleased rolling back fixed the issue!
Great news! We just released another update for Articulate 360 and included a few important fixes that you'll see in the release notes here.
The item you'll be interested in is: Fixed: Scroll bars and red spell-check lines on one layer were visible on other layers when they should've been hidden.
Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for Storyline 360. Details here.

I don't believe there is a work around, I reported as a bug a couple of weeks ago.

Hi Lyndal,
Thanks for chiming in and sharing that rolling back to a previous update provided a temporary workaround for you!
This is still an open issue with our team, but we'll let folks know in this discussion once we have more info to share.
