Spinning Wheel after Selecting Review Quiz Button

Jul 04, 2018

Hi,

I have updated to the current version for Storyline 360 - v.17.16188.0
After publishing a quiz, I click the button to review the quiz and get the spinning wheel of death! The button has the trigger to Review Results when clicked applied to it with the show correct/incorrect responses box checked.

The spinning wheel also shows across all browsers and when viewed on the LMS. I had sent my quiz to publish and test to another developer who had not updated her SL360 to the current version yet. She published it without changing any settings and everything worked fine. I am able to review it in any of my browsers.

I've tried different publishing settings and button/trigger options, but I get the same result. Please let me know if this is an issue that can be solved, or if its just something "buggy" with the current update. I can send the working quiz file I am using as the test module if it would help.

Thanks!
Chris

Hi Nicole,

No when I publish the quiz, the spinning wheel shows up as if its trying to load on my computer and anyone else's. Also does not work on any browser. The quiz works all around EXCEPT when a user clicks the review quiz button to review their results after they answer all the questions and get a score. That's when the spinning wheel shows. On mine and any other computer.

If I sent you the published file, you probably would get the spinning wheel when you go to review your results.

It worked fine when I had another person publish the same quiz - without touching any settings. The person who published had not updated to the latest version like I have. That's why I think its the version of SL360 I have causing the issues. I guess its the new version that includes the new modern player?

Hey Chris,

Thanks for sticking with us on this. The fact that another developer was able to preview and publish your file without a spinning wheel is definitely a red flag. It sounds like there may be something buggy going on here.

I tried recreating the issue in a new file, but so far I haven't had any luck getting the spinning wheel when clicking "Review Quiz." I'm really curious to see your quiz and take a closer look at your settings.

Would you mind sharing a copy of your file with me? You can send it here if you'd rather keep it private.

Thanks for sharing your file, Chris! Now I'm seeing the problem. It looks like having a question draw slide as the first slide is causing the quiz review and quiz retry to hang. Our team is investigating this closer, and we'll let you know as soon as we get it resolved.

In the meantime, you can get around the issue by adding an introductory slide before the question draw slide. In essence, the question draw slide will be slide 1.2.

I hope that workaround is a good option for you!
