This is probably a really simple question but I'm struggling with states or markers. I want the state of markers on the base layer to change but only when the layer that that particular marker reveals when selected is visible. Does that make sense? When other layers are visible I want the state to revert back to normal.
Have you tried creating a Selected state for each marker and then making the markers into a Button Set?
First, click on the marker, go to your States tab and click to make a New State. Choose "Selected" from the dropdown and format it as you like. Click done. Do that for each of your markers.
Then drag over all of your markers to select them all and right-click. Go down to Button Set and select Button Set1:
That should make it so that each marker appears selected only when selected.
