Step-by-Step: Duplicate Slide: Video Dimensions Problems
Feb 09, 2015

I've inserted a step-by-step screen recording into my scene.
There is one slide that sits and waits for a 30 second upload process to complete. I want split this one video across two slides to trim out the stagnant video fine tune adjusting the endpoint of the first slide and the start point of the second slide.
When I duplicate the original slide, the video dimensions of the new slide increase and the videos don't match from the first to the second slide. I'm brand new to Storyline but I believe I have done this without a problem in a different scene. I'm not sure what is happening in this scene.
I've posted a screen shot of the two slides from my Slide View.

Hello Russ,
Welcome to the community! I was to first confirm that you are working locally as described here. Is this the first time you have seen this issue occur? You can look into following the steps here as well. You could also share the slide in question here for us to take a look.
Hi Emily,
Yes, I am saving locally on my C-Drive.
I’ll reboot to see if that clears it up.
If not, I’ll follow the repair solution.
Thanks for the follow up.
Russ.
Thanks Russ,
Let us know if you need anything further.
Hi Emily,
I did some testing.
Here's the scenario:
I have two files:
* SARAiPadAppScreenRecordings.story
* SARA
Hello Russ,
Were you trying to attach the files here? If you reply via email they will not attach to the post. You will need to use the Add Attachment button directly in this post.
Ok... Files were so large that I've simplified it and was able to recreate the issue.
Original.story now contains a single scene. The scene was saved directly to that file. I then copied the scene from Original.story into Recipient_File.story .
Behavior matches description above:
Original: As expected. Video dimensions remain the same.
Recipient_File: Unexpected. Video dimensions increase
Hello Russ,
Thanks for sharing these files. I did see that in the Recipient file, the story size was not set up the same as the original. Once I updated the size, the files both looked the same:
I created a new file, update the size, then copied the scene into this,and it is appearing to be the same size. Attached is a file for reference.
That worked! I'll chalk this one up to me being a novice with Storyline.
Thank you for your help, Emily.
Great to have a community to turn to.
