I am having issues with Storyline not publishing a zipped file for the LMS. In testing, this worked, but as I have different scenes that are screen casts. Now it will only get to the first page of the publishing dialog. I need to find a way to resolve this issue quickly.
And sorry to hear about the difficulty you're running into. I'd suggest starting by running through the troubleshooting steps here, and if you're still experiencing the issue after that, please feel free to contact our support team for further help. Thanks!
For what it's worth, I never use Storyline to package my zip files for the LMS. After publishing I go directly to the output folder so I can "see" all the files prior to packaging to a .zip file. Plus, in some cases I'm adding additional files after publishing.
Then simply .zip them manually like you would any other package. Doing it this way I've never run into any problems with them running on an LMS. I'm an independent and work with various LMS platforms through my clients. No issues.
iwas hoping that was the case for articulate. but i'm getting any joy when i i publish it myself. maybe its the lms im using (sharePoint learning Kit) but it only seems to work when i zipp it through articualte.
i'm running several test at the moment, but its frustating as i can t add or make changes to the out put folder. grrrr
@asaf I know this thread is pretty stale, but I'm having the same issue with not being able to upload courses that I have zipped up myself. Did anyone ever find a resolution?
I'm not certain that Asif is still subscribed to this thread - but are you unable to use the "zip" feature on the publish successful window? I ask, as the most likely cause of a course not uploading to the LMS is in relation to how the SCORM package was zipped.
An LMS will not be able to find the IMSManfiest.xml file for a course if it's not at the root of the zip file.
To correct this issue, you can try either of the following:
Use the built-in Zip feature on the Publish Successful dialog after you've published your Articulate content. It'll automatically create a well-formed zip file.
If you manually zip the output files, make sure that you only zip the contents of the output folder, not the folder itself.
Have you tried zipping using the built-in zip feature?
Hi there - I am taking a screencast as well as "try it" presentation and after publishing it to the LMS and selecting ZIP there is no zip file appearing. I have reinstalled Storyline as well as done all the normal "restart" etc. I only see this...
That doesn't right! It sounds like you're clicking zip on the publishing window, and it's still showing an unzipped folder. Do you mind sharing a screen recording of this behavior with us? This is what it looks like on my end.

if i dont zip it in articulate and do it after, the LMS doesnt seem to run online, instead you have to download.

Hey Asif,
Is it possible to publish the output to a local or shared drive. Then zip the package and manually upload to Sharepoint?
thats what i've done. confused. might just give it a break and come back to it with fresh pair of eyes
cheers
@ thomas gasque- Have you had any joy?
