Storyline 1 file uploading to Moodle 2.4

Sep 24, 2015

Hello everyone,

Apologies in advance if this question has already been answered. I did take a look through the forum and tried a couple of solutions to similar issues, but they haven't worked for me.

My problem is this: I have developed an eLearning topic in Storyline 1 and published it for LMS, with the intention of uploading it to a Moodle 2.4 site. I set it to scorm 1.2 and changed the tracking to be based on total number of slides viewed. After publishing I used the zip option on the publish screen to zip the folder ready for upload to Moodle. I added a scorm activity to my moodle course but when I try to upload my zip file using the computers in my office the upload dialog box just spins and the zip file never actually uploads, though it seems to work at home. I have also uploaded the zip file to scormcloud and it loads perfectly there. Could anyone shed any light on why this might be happening?

My second issue is that, when I do finally get the zip file to upload at home and I test it, the score returned to the Moodle gradebook is always 0%, even after viewing all of the slides in the storyline activity. Obviously I'm missing a step somewhere but I'm at a loss to understand what that step is.

Any help you could give would be wonderful.

Thank you,

Stephanie.

Hi Stephanie,

In regards to your first issue, if the upload works at SCORM Cloud it sounds like the files are fine, so you'll want to connect with the Moodle team about how to upload and if there are any particular issues with the upload that they could assist with.

I do see a few issues that have been reported to our QA team in regards to the score of 0% being reported to the LMS when tracking by slides viewed and using the "exit course" trigger. It seems that taking the course in one sitting (without resuming) or using the browser close button allows it work as expected. If that's the same set up you're seeing, I'll include this thread in the report filed with our team so that I can keep you posted here on any other information but in the meantime you'll want to use the workarounds as mentioned.
