I have used storyline for a few years now. Just recently I have found my published storyline projects have lost their browser controls when opening in a new window with a custom window size. If opened with HTML 5 as the main file I have browser controls and if the same file is opened with HTML as the main it looses all of its controls.
Thank you for your reply I have already figured out the workaround. What I need to know is if this is fixed will it fix all of the previous published storylines I have on my LMS? I currently have over 100 and if I have to fix republish, resave, re upload, re embed this would take days? Thanks
I'm seeing the same problem in IE11 - the suggested work around (changing the New Browser Window properties to Default for Window size) is not working.
Any additional suggestions while we wait for a solution?
Thanks for linking to that thread - it doesn't look like there was any additional information from that about a year ago either. I don't have an intranet site/link I could test this with - but I'd be curious if you've also tested outside your LMS in a site such as SCORM Cloud to see if it's also the way your LMS is handling the elements. SCORM Cloud is an industry standard for testing SCORM content.
I'll test later today and report back what I find.
In the mean time I tested the sample course from Chrome and both the Intranet and Internet links did not display browser controls (the address bar is however present).
Thanks for testing this out. I now do remember an older thread (although I can't currently find it) indicating that the browser has some control in this as well (in regards to if they'll display the address bar/navigation from a link included in the course).
Although it's interesting that SCORM Cloud does the total opposite of Inquisiq. I wonder have you asked Inquisiq about how they work with embedded links and new browser/windows?
I checked the existing links and they were using the settings like those in the graphic above. On Chrome I get the address bar but no navigation. I am linking to documents in the Resources using story_content/external_files/ to prefix the link. The host is on the Internet.

Hi Jacqui!
This is an issue that has been reported to our QA Team.
The current workaround is to use "Default" for window size, instead of "custom" or "full screen".
I will add this thread for awareness to our team and will flag this thread for update when applicable.
Thank you for your reply

Hi Jacqui!
The fix would be in the software and would not affect your previously published projects.

Hi Thor,
I haven't seen any additional suggestions on how to change the default behavior here but we'll keep you posted once we hear information from our team.
Ashley,
Thanks for the response - I did some additional searching and I found this post (https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/default-browser-controls-on-url-trigger) that explains my problem - when opening a link to an Intranet site the browser controls (including address bar) do not display while an internet link does.

I launched the course on SCORM cloud and here are the results:
IE 11
(This is the opposite result from the Inquisiq LMS)
Chrome
(Same result from Inquisiq LMS)
Do you think that player settings may have anything to do with this behavior? In the course I'm testing I have the following settings:
Browser size: Resize browser to fill screen
Player size: Scale player to fill browser window

I am just seeing this problem. Where do I set "Default"?
Hi Gordon,
When you insert a hyperlink click on the [...] next to where you've entered the URL or file path and you'll see the options here:
Hope that helps - and you can read more about inserting hyperlinks in Storyline 1 here.
Thanks Ashley. I am being dim today.

I am running Storyline 1 Update 9.

Hi Gordon,
I know some browsers have handled it differently as I mentioned above - so there may not be a way to adjust this further.
