Storyline 2: after publishing, width of slides jumps in and out between slides

Nov 02, 2017

This has started happening with all my projects recently. Check out this tutorial: http://claire.support/tutorials/praxis-einstellungen/au-diagnose/story_html5.html

Click into Chapter 3 or 4. As you can see, the slide width "jumps" back and forth when going from one slide to the next.

Just for the record:
1. All screen captures were done at the same size (1670x900)
2. When previewing the tutorial inside of Storyline, this doesn't happen. So I guess it has something to do with how the HTML Code is written .. ??

Hi Gary,

I saw the same thing you described when I tested your link. In the HTML5 output, the slide background "shrinks" with each new slide. The Flash output worked normally.

This is a software bug that we have reported to our team, and we’ll continue to keep an eye on it to evaluate how many customers are impacted and what impact it has on courses. The number of customers and depth of impact are two of the elements that help us prioritize bugs and fixes.

Here's some more detail about how we tackle bugs.  I'm really sorry that I can't say if this issue will be fixed, but you're in the right place to stay updated on this bug's progress.

That's unfortunate. I am getting heat from my customer on a regular basis about this - it really "gets on his nerves" (quote). And all I can tell him is "I don't know if and when this will be fixed."

Since we moved over to Storyline, we are becoming more and more dissatisfied with your product with regards to fixes and updates to interface issues, amoung others.

The support & updates for the IOS App also seems to have been ended.

Right now it looks like we have to make a decision to pay for a really expensive upgrade to Storyline 360, or move to another product.

Hi Gary,

We still support the Articulate Mobile player, but you're right that there haven't been any recent updates. We also released the responsive player as a part of Storyline 360 and Storyline 3, which provides even more robust HTML5 support.

I'd also be curious to know what browser(s) you've tested this in, and if you've seen any change based on updates to browsers recently? The Storyline 2 HTML5 output did have limited support to Chrome and Safari (on Mac systems) and then within a mobile device the same browsers for Android and iOS.
