Storyline 2 and moodle 3 interaction report 'Undifined' arabic language
Mar 07, 2016
Hello,
This is my first post in this forum. I'm using Storyline 2 as my authoring tool and first I want to thank the developers of this program for its ease of use. I installed Moodle 3 as my LMS and it's good too, but I'm facing an issue when I upload a quiz (published as Scorm 1.2) from Storyline 2 to Moodle 3. I'm unable to see most of the responses for the questions from the users, I got many 'undefined' responses in the interaction report on Moodle 3. I created the same quiz in English and I have no problem. So I want to know from the experts and from people who are creating e-learning courses and quizzes in Arabic, How to solve this issue and from which side this issue is coming from: Moodle or Storyline 2? I will be very grateful if anyone can help with this issue.

Hi Ahmed! Are you able to replicate the issue if you upload the course to SCORM Cloud for testing? If so, we would want to take a look at your project file.
Hi, Ahmad -- Thanks for reaching out, and welcome to the community! May I ask if you are finding the same behavior when you test your published output on the SCORM Cloud, as it is i the industry standard for LMS testing? You may also find this article on How to Troubleshoot Your LMS with SCORM Cloud.
And hopefully others in the community who use Moodle will be able to share ideas, as well!
Thanks for the fast response. I have uploaded the scorm file to scorm cloud, it's tracking the completion, success and the score, but how can I see the response for each question like in moodle?
Edit: I found out how to see each response in scorm cloud, as you can see in the attached image it returns empty or blank in the response field. The issue is originated from storyline 2 because it's not sending the responses in arabic correctly. Can someone advice or explain what should I do to fix this issue?
Please check the attached file which contains the quiz published as 1.2 scorm package, please take a look.
Hi, Ahmad -- Thanks so much for your reply, and could you please check your spacing as described here in another post where "undefined responses" were reported? You may also find some of the suggestions offered here to be of some assistance.
I tried to remove spaces, but it didn't work. As I have said before, I have uploaded the same quiz but with English answers instead of Arabic and it worked perfectly. This is really a big issue and I really want a fix for it, what should I do? Should I submit a ticket?
Hi, Ahmad -- Thank you for reviewing the most recent troubleshooting options I've offered and yes, if you would be interested in working directly with our Support Engineers for their insights, please use this form to submit a case. I will be certain to follow along with their progress and I plan to share relevant findings here for others who may benefit. :)
Hello All,
I'm having the same problem with Hebrew
Thanks,
Ilana
Hi, Ilana -- Thanks for reaching out and so sorry to hear of the difficulties you are experiencing! I checked and it does not appear that Ahmad decided to submit a case to work with our Support Engineers for further exploration of the issue, so I do not have an update to share from his case.
However, if you have already reviewed the suggestions shared above and are still finding no improvement, I would recommend that you use this form to reach out to our Support Team, as well. If you do, please share your case number and we'll be happy to follow along! :)
Hi Christie,
I submitted a new case as you suggested:

Thanks for your support,

Thanks for popping back in to share Ilana! Christie is on vacation this week, so I popped in to check on your case and it looks like you are working with Robert. I will follow along as well.
Just wanted to pop in and share the latest on Ilana's case:
...rather than getting an undefined value I got a blank. However the score reflected correctly. I would like to confirm if you got the same behavior where the score is reflected correctly.
You may find that non-English characters in question and answer text are replaced by underscores (_) in LMS debug logs or reports. This is by design to conform to AICC and SCORM specs. See this article for details.
