Storyline 2 HTML 5 output produces weird distortion

Oct 09, 2017

I've been building a project using storyline 2 for the past few months. Since our recent Chrome update I can no longer generate my project in Chrome, so I tried generating and viewing in Chrome using HTML 5. The fonts are different, which I could live with, but some of my graphics are very blurry. But the thing I find most disturbing is this odd transition that occurs when it moves to the next slide. It almost looks like it grows slightly, then shrinks back to the appropriate size.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of thing, and is there a solution?

Hi there Donna,

It sounds like you may be viewing the HTML5 output from your local computer, is that correct?

If you're testing the content locally, you may be encountering security and browser restrictions. So uploading it to Tempshare or any other web server will ensure that you can view the content as expected.

Let me know how things go on Tempshare or if you'd like some help with that testing!

Hi Alyssa,

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes I am trying to view the HTML 5 on my local computer. I thought it was best to run Articulate on a local drive. As I work for the state, I do not have access to the Tempshare site to upload.

We were planning to launch our project on our intranet, and now I'm concerned about how it will look when we deploy it that way. Can you give me any advice on that?

Hi Donna!

We certainly advise working locally when using your Articulate software and files, but as Alyssa mentioned uploading the final project is best to test your learner experience.

Do you have a test server that you can use internally or somewhere to load prior to releasing to your learners on your intranet? That could certainly serve as your testing as well.

If you need us to take a look, feel free to share your .story file. If that needs to be privately, you may do so here.
