Hi I have a client that is having an issue when viewing an articulate storyline 2 file via a 10 inch android browser. You can click play and it will play but if you move the screen to the right, left, up or down it resets the player to the start. So if a user clicks to scroll even a tiny bit, it resets it. Can't replicate it on ipad or 7-9 inch tablets as they work ok.
Ya I am not super familiar with SCORM but our storyline is set for HTML5 so I assume we need to export as SCORM and then import it, but then our system doesn't handle it so I am thinking this will not help.
We designed our LMS to intake the Storyline 2 as a HTML or web based versions and we grab all the assets and then save in our system, display it and integrate the answers and information. It has been working great, until the 10 inch tablet issue.
That LG tablet I think only has 1Gb of RAM, I have seen courses with high resolutions and lots of media crash the browser (although it doesn't look
Like that is happening.
I would do a scorncloud test as if it happens there that would rule out your LMS
Next I would publish a couple of different settings in the player setting for scale etc.
Both are simple to do and then I would open a support case.
I am working on re-publishing a sample file with the option for HTML 5 and mobile viewing un-checked. When I re-published for LMS output and un-checked the mobile viewing option, it improved the performance to a certain degree, but it still was giving us the same issue.

Phil we have done a few different ways to publish but HTML5 is the best one. We have it working on the 7 inch, 8 inch and 9 inch tablets fine, but the 10inch doesn't. So our LMS implementation works fine with all of them. We are stumped as to how it can work on all the others EXCEPT the 10 inch which our client has. Thoughts?
Did you try in another LMS such as SCORM Cloud as Phil mentioned? I don't know if you'd be able to add that window into your website, but I have got to imagine that the combination of the Android 10 inch, Chromes refresh behavior, LMS set up and embedding on a page is the main factor here - since the HTML5 version on a plain web page worked normally.
You need to rule out the LMS as a factor which is why I recommended Scormcloud. You can sign up for free and test for free. It would take 10 minutes to set up an account and test., if all works fine in Scormcloud then I would take a look at how the embed is working.
Google produces specific versions of Android to each device manufacturer that are then modified by the manufacturer it is possible that there is something specific to this model causing this.
Have you tried changing the player settings under the other tab, such as resizing the window, scaling not scaling?
If it works fine on a plain web page I would be inclined to agree with Ashley that the LMS and the way pages are embedded is at fault
Thanks Phil and Ashley. It works fine on ALL other tablets is the deal. We can not integrate SCORM as our LMS doesn't digest it and it would take a lot of time to do that. So we are going to troubleshoot it directly from the device from our client.
Yes we changed the player settings, scaling etc.
Again it works great on desktop, phone, and all tablets except 10 inch. I suspect it is an issue just on that 10 that we have to dive into. Waiting to see what Leslie can see on her side. We are going to get a 10inch from our client and manually test it locally.
It may be a plugin to chrome on that tablet, or it may be a screen size issue. It is odd that it is a form factor issue.
The content that is produced whenever you publish be it scorm, web, CD is exactly the same it just has additional files added dependent on what you choose, testing in scormcloud on that device may determine where the fault lies. If it works faultlessly in scormcloud then it is likely your LMS. If the same thing happens then it is likely Articulate Storyline that is at fault.
There are other places you can test upload to server and test the html page, upload to articulate online. All of these if repeatable outside your LMS will rule out the LMS and then it is worth opening a support case.
As I mentioned above, I was unable to track down a 10" Android 5 device. I reached out to our entire team, so I do not foresee that changing.
Since it is not replicated anywhere else and we do not have a device with that exact set up, I agree that you should work with your LMS if it does not cause the same behavior in SCORM Cloud, AO, or a server.
hi Guys, we got it fixed. We found that the 10inch tablet invoked a call that forced the player to close whenever you touched it inside. So we programmed that to not do anything and it works great now. Thanks for the help.
It was a programming event call that was being invoked only on the 10inch. It was having it show up but if the user touched anywhere on the page, the call was to close it. Then there wasn't a way to reopen it. So we just commented out that event call and it bypassed it.
Did you made these changes on Tab or on the course.
If changes were made on the course, can you share the file name and location in which changes were done.
I am also facing issue with one of my course on 10 inch tab.
The course is playing fine, just that when we enter the quiz, images gets distorted and misplaced. Touch screen is also not working properly in the quiz.

this is the tablet I tested on at Verizon- LG 10.1 http://www.verizonwireless.com/tablets/lg-g-pad-10-1-lte/
Thanks Ashley. Our LMS is not scorm compliant so I am not sure if it will even work but will try it now and see.

If you publish to scorn only the html5 will load on the tablet, if it works with no issues the problem is likely your LMS implementation
I was unable to track down a 10" Android 5 device. Just to update on that testing.
Thanks Leslie. Let me know when you find one? I just went to the verizon store locally and did my testing there. That is where the video is from.

Hi Ashley and Abhimanyu,
We fixed it but it was a touch issue on the frame itself.
You can reach me at tim@velop.org for more.
Thanks
