Storyline 3 - Mouse Hover issue

Nov 22, 2017

Hi,

I have created a number of slides using a mouse hover to show a layer.  This seems to work fine and has no issue in preview mode.

However when published (HTML 5 with Flash backup) some of the hover actions work intermittently. Slowly moving the mouse across onto a trigger are sometimes will flash up the layer briefly but then it will disappear, even though the mouse is still over the area.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue?

I have attached a one slide zip file containing a published for web version with the issue.  In this file the area over the "Target" is the problem.

Cheers

Here is a hover problem that has plagued Storyline for years and there is NO solution at this point.

Rebuilding buttons with hover states that contain in/out animations until they work properly is not a reasonable solution.

I have wasted at least 6 hours fighting with hover state.  The References button refuses to work properly.  I, and the rest of the community, would LOVE a solid fix for this that works.

Ignore the fact that shapes don't respect their placement or alignment as some hover states cover lines they shouldn't even though they are built to NOT cover the lines.

John--Thanks for letting me know you published for LMS. I republished your file and uploaded the SCORM 1.2 output to SCORM Cloud here. Could you test this link and let me know if you're still seeing the same problem?

Kev--Can you tell me more about how the References button is not working correctly? Here's what I saw in my testing:

Good to know, John. The next step would be to test your SCORM output in SCORM Cloud. If your SCORM output works well there, then we know the issue is with your LMS.

If you'd like some help with that, attach your SCORM output to a new thread comment, and I'll upload it to SCORM Cloud for you.

You can also create your own free account in SCORM Cloud for testing by clicking here!
