Storyline 3 slide count

Nov 23, 2018

Hi all

We are currently converting courses from our current LCMS (IBM Kenexa) by publishing Kenexa content into html and copy and pasting the elements into SL3.

Some users are now getting random crashing problems in SL3 I was just wondering if this is a slide count issue - the course in question has got 500+ slides in it. We have tried copy and pasting from this story into another one to reduce slide count, but this error below came up. Fortunately the story is still intact and wasn't corrupted, but it appears we are having issues with big slide count .story's

Hope this makes sense

Hi Paul,

Sorry to hear that you folks are experiencing issues. I do not believe that slide count matters as I haven't seen a recommendation about a particular limit however, it will depend on how media heavy your slides are and the amount of overall media on your project. It will also depend on your system if the memory can handle such load.

Here is thread about the best practices in handling large project/file sizes.

Also, I am assuming that this issue is true to all and used different system/computer. Did you experience it first hand?

Upon checking the attached error, in my opinion, it seems like the system memory is being overworked or overloaded that the system cannot handle the media files. Hope that the thread I shared will give you an idea on how you can go around this issue.

I am also hoping that our expert who already bump into this issue give you advice and shed some light on it.

Please do not hesitate to reach back should you still facing the issue and we will try to figure it out.

Wish you all the best.
