Storyline: can't import translated doc file

I just received the English translations for a German Storyline 360 project from our service provider. For technical reasons, the service provider works most reliably with the older doc format. This has also worked without problems for well over 100 projects over the last three years until today.

When importing the doc file this time, however, all text fields are just replaced by empty text. There is no error message.
I already checked if the translator might have edited the indexes. This does not seem to be the case.

Particularly strange: even when trying to re-import the original doc export file, exactly the same thing happens.

I am grateful for any solution.

  • Well, I found a solution to my problem, which is actually so obvious:
    I exported the doc file again and then copied the English texts into it. The reimport worked this time.

    It would be helpful for the future to know what was wrong with the translated doc file, and especially why the import of the original export file caused the same error, but so be it.
