Storyline crashes while recording and inserting audio

Storyline keeps crashing when I'm working with audio.  I will record audio through a mic, insert it and then while I'm adjusting the screen actions, it crashes.  I'm finding I have to save every few seconds when I'm working with audio.  At the suggestion of our IT dept, I've cleared my cookies and history since it seems the error message generated is an IE message.

Any suggestions?  This is really costing me time.

Hi Jeremy!

It seems that you are having a number of issues. Are you working locally on both your software, project files, and resources?

When creating, editing, and publishing Articulate Storyline courses, be sure you're working on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes, and loss of resources. See this article for more information.
