Storyline hint caption timing

Sep 06, 2012

Hello all,

Is there a way to set the hint caption in a simulation to be visible until the user moves the curser off the hot spot?  I know how to extend the timing, but I'm looking to avoid setting the timing to ~100 seconds. Also, can I change all of them at one time?

Good Afternoon, Matt.

Here is a forum discussion on forcing a layer to stay until the user takes the mouse off the text.  There's also some additional information on adding a fly-out animation, which may or may not be relevant for your situation.

Please note that in this case, we are hovering over a button instead of a hotspot, and it appears that the hotspot object does not have a Hover state by default.  It seems as though you would need to replace all of your hotspots with buttons (transparent buttons, if you wish) in order to gain the ability to apply a Hover state and thereby keep your caption open until the user stops hovering the cursor.

That seems like it may be more effort than it's worth, and perhaps other members of the community have additional ideas.

Let us know how it goes.  Thanks!
