Storyline Learner Progress

I am working to create a fully interactive course, using Storyline to deliver it across multiple scenes. The learner will have a linear path, and won't have the option to move freely throughout the course.
Currently, we accomplish this by creating a storyline project for each lesson in a Rise course. (which means multiple projects to manage) But I would like to make this more seamless for the learner.
What I am trying to see is if we create a multiple-scene Storyline interactive. Will the learner be able to track their progress, and easily return to the section they last completed, if they were to leave the training? From my tests it makes them restart at scene one.

Are you using an LMS
Yes, we are using Highspot as our LMS. To account for this we have one Storyline project per lesson, so the LMS will save their progress because the lessons are broken out. But when I upload one large storyline project I am not able to leave and go back to where I left off as a learner.

I'm happy to chime in! In addition to Phil's question, can you also share the LMS standard you are using? We recommend publishing for the latest edition of SCORM 2004, xAPI (Tin Can API), or cmi5 to avoid resume issues with your LMS. Sounds like you are using one of the scorm standards that only store small resume data limits. Try using xAPI, or 2004 3rd ex or above.
Thank you both Phil and Eric. Let me try a different SCORM standard. If you had to choose the best would you do SCOMR 2004 4e, AICC, xAPI, or cmi5?
also just because I have not used these SCORM types before, what is the difference?

Ran into an issue with our LMS. It looks like the only support SCORM is 1.2 please see attached image.
Is there a way to have the save progress with SCORM 1.2 or no?
You can optimise a little by setting slides to reset to initial state, at some point however you will run out of resume data on large courses.
Ok so the best way to accomplish this is to use one of the SCORM formats listed in your prior message correct? If so I will take this feedback back to our LMS.
Yes Scorm 1.2 only has 4096 characters whereas Scorm 2004 3rd ed and above have 64000 characters and I don't believe there is a limit for xAPI

They may be able to increase the limit for you so you still use 1.2 but have higher resume limit
