Storyline not displaying web objects in Blackboard 9.1

Aug 18, 2014

I have created a module in Storyline that includes several web objects so the students can go directly to the website and stay within the module. I've uploaded the zip file and linked to the story.html. The file works fine until I get to the web object. Then all I get is a blank screen. I've tried several different sites as well as the embed code for a Prezi. Nothing. I have used Chrome and IE.

Hopefully, someone can help.

Hi Gayla,

It looks like I responded to your thread over here, and I've taken a look at your course, but without the .story file it's difficult to see how it's set up to embed the web object. Also, you mentioned you're hosting on Blackboard - but it looks like you've published for web instead of publishing for LMS.

Based on your other thread, I know you were working with Regil before as a part of a case. You're welcome to share the .story file with Regil through the case or share it with us here in the forums.

Hi Gayla,

Have you tried uploading the course within another web server to see if it's specific to Blackboard? If you'd like to share the .story file with us, I am happy to take a look at the web object embedded and then test publishing it for my web server. If you would like to try your course at another server, there are a few options listed in this article.

Hi Gayla and Ashley!

I am running into exactly the same problem. I can publish to Blackboard and all the slides are fine except those that contain a web object -- they are blank. I did upload to another server (outside blackboard) and it works fine, so it is specific to Blackboard (9.1 - April 2014 release). It would be great however if Storyline played well with Blackboard.

Did you find a solution? Thanks. janet.

Hi Janet,

I'm sorry to hear that you've run into the issue as well. Have you checked in with the Blackboard team to see if there is something specific on their end you could check into? Also, if you don't hear from Gayla here in the forums, you may want to try and send her a private message to see if she has a resolution.
