Storyline Quiz Question Formatting

Apr 18, 2013

Hi,

I've created some quiz questions in Storyline. I've set a background behind my questions, and on a few I needed to reformat the answer options so they could be read more easily (one was a multiple choice question, the other a multiple response). I did this by selecting each answer option and using the Quick Styles. Everything looks fine until I preview. When those questions appear, the formatting is missing on the correct answers.

What am I missing?

Thanks,

James

Hi James,

Hard to tell from the screenshot, but it looks like that background image may be covering up some of the elements. Can you try moving the background image to the back of the slide and see if that helps?

If you still can't get them to show up properly, can you post the .STORY file here? I'd be happy to take a look.

Thanks!

Christine

Thanks, Christine, but the background is in the back.

Here's a screen snap of how it looks when I'm working on it.

The file's pretty large. There seems to be some sort of conditional formatting on the answers given in both cases it's the correct answers that "lose" their formatting. However, I'm not seeing where thay may be.

Hi James,

Thanks for getting back to me!

If it looks fine on the slide, but not when previewing, you may want to check your system's DPI settings.Storyline will function as expected when Windows is set to 96 DPI (dots per inch).

Storyline doesn't currently support 120 DPI. If your system is set to 120 DPI, you may experience erratic behavior, such as:

*  Elements of the application are misplaced or distorted.

*  Objects are misplaced or distorted when previewed or published.

*  Zoomed images don't work as expected.

*  Font sizes are incorrect after using the translation features.

Here's how you can switch to 96 DPI

You may also want to make sure you're running the most recent version of Storyline. To find out, click on "Help" and "About Articulate Storyline". If you're not using version 2 (1212.1412), please download and install Update 2 from the link below.

Articulate Storyline > Download Update 2

If you still have trouble with the formatting, you could try importing that single question slide into a new file and sharing it, if you'd like. Or, if you prefer, you're welcome to send the entire file over to us in a support case

Thanks!

Christine

Hi Natalie and welcome to Heroes!

This thread is a bit older, and I don't see specifics on what James changed within his states and their formatting. We're currently on update 6 of Storyline, so you may want to check that in addition to the other elements Christine mentioned - and then if you're still having difficulty can you share your .story file with us?
