Storyline 'reference' not rendering correctly

Apr 16, 2019

Hi,

I recently created a simple course that pulls text into additional slides using the reference tool.  Everything works perfectly when I preview it.  However, when I publish the Storyline 360 file and add it to a rise course, the text is showing on the referenced slides in tiny, tiny print.  It's not legible at all.  Any ideas on what's happening when the file is being published that's causing the rendering issues or suggestions on how to fix it!

I'm a rookie at Storyline and Rise so please provide details!

Hi, Michelle!

It sounds like you are using a Storyline block that has a text entry field, and the text reference font appears way too small. Is that right?

I've tried recreating this on my end, but so far I haven't had any luck. Would you mind if we had a closer look at what you're seeing?

If that works for you, you can send the Rise 360 Share link to our support team here. We'll check it out and let you know what we found!

I cut out all the other stuff and left just the activity that is causing the issue.  I am unable to duplicate the issue as well.  But I've sent the course over to two peers to review and both have the issue.  One of them is on a different computer than me but the other has the same set up.

Hi Michelle,

For the text box displaying the reference value, try this:

  1. Right-click on the text box and select Format Shape.
  2. Select the Text Box tab at the bottom left of the dialog box that appears.
  3. Under Autofit, select Do Not Autofit.
  4. Extend the text box height down so that it's about the same height as the gray panel.

That seems to correct the problem.
