Storyline-stuck spinning when user clicks "submit"

Feb 01, 2023

Hi. I have a storyline module that users are reporting that they get the spinning wheel after they click "submit" on the last quiz question.  It does not stop spinning and they are never advanced to the quiz results page.  Triggers all look good.  Can anyone help?

Hi Laura,

Thanks for reaching out!

Try recreating the Results Slide of your course to see if this helps. You can test your course using the default Result Slide (without any formatting or additional objects added to it) to see if this will load. If it does, something in your original Result Slide may have encountered data corruption, in which case, we recommend opening a support case here so we can take a closer look.

I have this problem right now. Were you able to figure out the problem, Laura? I'm using 3 question banks in my quiz and sending results for 40 random questions out of those banks. I'm not sure if it's my file, the LMS, the number of questions in the test or what.

I'm going to try the results slide suggestion and go from there, I guess.

Hi Stephanie!

Since this thread is a little older, Laura may not still be subscribed to it. If you would like to reach out to her directly, you can do so by clicking on her name and navigating to the contact me link!

Also, great call on implementing the troubleshooting steps Joe mentioned earlier. Please let us know if that worked for you! If not, we'd be happy to continue troubleshooting your issue!

Thanks for reaching out!

Hi Stephanie,

Welcome to the E-Learning Heroes community!

I'm sorry to hear that you're still experiencing this issue, and you're correct about submitting a ticket! Sharing your file with our Support Engineers will help them investigate what's going on. You can submit a support case, here.

Additionally, I see you mentioned in your first post that you weren't sure if the issue was specific to your LMS or project file. One way you can test is by using SCORM Cloud.

  • If the course works correctly in SCORM cloud, then I suggest that you reach out to your LMS provider to troubleshoot the issue. They'll know how best to help with LMS-specific problems.
  • If it doesn’t work in SCORM cloud, that indicates the issue lies within your project. The next step would be to reach out to us in a support case.
