Storyline timeline control and synch issues

I’m a new Storyline user and I’m really satisfied with the overall features offered by the software, besides the unquestionable quality. However, after publishing a couple of courses, I’ve noticed a few issues regarding the timeline control and video synch that are affecting the end results of my projects and I would like to share these issues with you to hopefully fix it.

Video synch gets massy when navigating through the seek bar.

The synch problem happens when the user navigates back and forth through the seek bar of a slide containing a video synchronized to other objects, like images. There is a delay that can be of four seconds between the video and the images, compromising the “story”.

Is there any means to solve this “bug” or at least improve the synch?

I’ve created a story to demonstrate this bug, available at: http://www.salesconnection.com.br/colors

Download the sotryline file at:  http://www.salesconnection.com.br/colors/colors.rar

Navigating to next/previous cue point (function).

A key feature when a story combines video and images is the possibility to navigate to the next topic (cue), within the same slide, using a button, for example.

Is there any Storyline functionality to cover that need?

Rewind slide button.

In order to eliminate the seek bar/play/rewind from the storyline player and use a 100% custom design it would be very useful to have a REWIND SLIDE functionality which could be attributed to a button. Is it available? How?

Play and Pause functions have already been sorted out in the forums.

Cue points at play head.

The storyline play head cue points are used when the author wants and objet to appear at a certain point in the timeline. I’ve noticed that when using cue points, the rewind function of the player goes to the previous cue, not to the beginning of the slide, leaving no option to reload the slide. Is this fixable?

Hope you can help me with that.

Thank you in advance.

Rgds.

Video is not really a bug but related to progressive download of the video if you start scrubbing before the video has downloaded it is going to knock things out of sync

Rewind: set the slide to reset to initial state then adda button to jump to that slide and it will replay the slide

Cue points are only there in the developing stage to time animation etc with audio, there is no way to jump to cue points (although many of us have requested this)as far as I am aware cue points are not represented in the published output so would not/should not be affecting the rewind.

This is a serious deficiency in SL2. 'Feature request' just submitted.

It is really tedious to have to split content onto separate layers and then display each layer (using a trigger and a condition) when a 'Next' button is clicked. Building up a screen of bullet text/images, etc. is something even PowerPoint can do!

And it gets worse - if there is an audio on each of these layers, when I click 'Next' to display another layer, the currently playing audio continues together with the new layer's audio. And no, I don't want to have to play/pause named audio files with a trigger. When you display a new layer, an audio that is playing on the layer you are leaving should stop.

A lot of people have been asking for this 'jump to a cue point' for many months. Where is it?

I walk around is to use the Jump to slide-trigger and then choose the present slide.
