Surface Pro Issues viewing Storyline Course

May 13, 2022

Hi everyone,

Has anyone recently had issues with Surface Pros stopping in the middle of a storyline course, or, not recording the full progress at the end?  We recently have some assessments that work fine on other devices but not on Surface Pros.

Any insight is appreciated!

Hi Emily,

I'm sorry to hear about these issues popping up when using a Surface Pro. I'd like to ask a few questions to help clarify your experience:

  • Are you running into course progress issues?
  • Are there specific interactions that aren't working within the course, like interactions with gestures?
  • Both?

It sounds like the course isn't recording completion, and if so, I recommend testing your course in a different environment, like SCORM Cloud, to confirm if it's LMS-related or not.

Happy to dig further into this with your added details, and if you need help testing your file, please reach out to our support team here so we can take a closer look at what's happening!

Hey Joe,

Yes, it seems to stop the course progress about half-way through the questions and will not let the learner advance.  Though, no special interactions, they are standard or freeform questions.  The courses have been tested in SCORM cloud and do register LMS data on other devices.

I was able to share one of the files with the support team, but they were unable to identify any issues that surface pros should be running in to.

Thanks,

Emily

Hi Emily,

Thanks for letting me know that the issue only occurs when your courses are tested on Surface Pro devices. It looks like this issue needs to be further investigated in order to determine why the courses don't behave as they should when opened on specific devices.

You mentioned already sharing one of your course files with our support team, do you have a case number that you can share with me so I can make a follow up on your behalf?

Hi Emily,

Just to clarify, you tested your course in SCORM Cloud and it still did not work properly when accessed using Surface Pros, is this correct? Or did your course work as intended when the course was hosted in SCORM Cloud?

This information will help us determine if the issue is LMS related, or if it is something specific only to Surface Pros.

Looking forward to your response!
