What specifically are you trying to achieve? I did sync layers with the main timeline in several courses by triggering the layer to appear when timeline of some object starts.
I want the layer and the object in it to appear after the timeline has started – at 10 seconds, for example, then disappear after another 10 seconds. I know I can do this on the base layer, but when outputting in Word for a Participant Guide, the animated objects on the base layer appear on top of each other and overlap. I am trying to avoid this by using a different method to animate the objects. Can I do this?
When you publish to Word, your Word doc will include a screenshot of each slide's base layer. If you want your document to also include a screenshot of the other layers associated with each slide, there is a checkbox to include that. When you publish, the layer screenshots will appear right after the associated base layer, so you shouldn't see the object overlapping unless they're on the same layer together. Since the Word output doesn't have timings or animations - you may want to make adjustments in a copy of your course that you'll publish to Word so that the elements don't overlap.

Hi Sarunas -

I would do it this way:
- Add transparent shape in your main layer that starts at 10 seconds.
- Add a trigger to show layer when timeline for that shape starts.
- In new layer settings select "Hide layer when timeline finishes", and disable "Allow seeking" option on that layer.
