Is there a way to set the default autofit property of a text box? And also for the margins?
We never want to have "Shrink to fit on overflow." I think the default textboxes on the master slide have this set, so changing that should help. Any other tricks for making sure that never gets in there?

"Shrink to fit on overflow" should not be the default. Super annoying.

I'm sorry that it's causing you some headaches - we follow the Powerpoint standard on this, where the default is also to shrink text on overflow:
