Text Entry Field auto displaying answer in LMS

Jan 06, 2022

I have a quiz question that features a short answer text entry field where the learner is required to enter the correct response in order to successfully answer the activity. In preview slide/preview entire course mode with Storyline, this activity is working fine. However, when I publish the course, load it into my LMS and test it from that perspective the correct answer is auto displayed in a small predictive text style prompt as soon as they type the first letter of the correct answer.

I am unsure if this is a Storyline issue (if it is I can't see any settings that might alleviate the problem) or if it is the LMS being too smart for its own good.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so how might it be resolved?

Hi Kathleen,

Thanks for reaching out, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! ✨

I'm sure it's not ideal to have an answer appear before you complete a text-entry response! The auto-fill, or auto-complete prompt, is a setting in your browser and can't be fixed within your Storyline file.

This discussion below shares some further details and an unsupported workaround that may help, but keep in mind if the course is going out to individual users, the auto-complete will not appear during their first time going through the lesson. I hope this helps!
