Is there anything in the pipeline that will provide a timeline scrubber in Storyline 360, in the view? It would be nice when a slide has audio and/or animations, that you could use a scrubber to get to a specific place in the slide animation, much like Flash.
We do have an open request for this feature, so I will be sure to add your voices to our report. I appreciate you sharing what changes you would like to see in Storyline. We will be sure to update this thread as soon as we have news to share!
I have exciting news to share! We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 66, we've included important fixes and new features.
One of the features we've included is:
Scrub the timeline to quickly see when timed elements appear and disappear on the stage without previewing the entire slide.
To take advantage of this feature, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let us know if you have any questions by posting here or by reaching out to our Support Engineers directly.
I appreciate the scrubbing feature but currently objects only "fade in". This was very confusing at first because quite often objects have different Entrance Animations (e.g. Wipe or Grow). Can this feature be adjusted so it's a more accurate reflection of a slide?
As it stands now most of my colleagues still use the existing preview functionalities. This feature could be great if it was more representative of what is actually happening on a slide.
Thanks for the feedback regarding the scrubbing feature! There is currently no way to adjust how the timeline is previewed using the scrubbing feature, but this sounds like a great feature to have. I’ll be happy to pass your thoughts on to our product team, but you can also feel free to detail them more through a feature request!
I'll create a feature request and I'll link this thread. It's not that I don't think this feature is great, I mainly think its a stepping stone. You want the scrubbing feature to be as informative as possible, in other words: "do things wipe, grow, fly-in, fade- in correctly". Now, I only get 50% of the information I need (and therefore, I still have to preview the product normally to get all the information I need).
Anyway, I appreciate your response. On another note, I recently made a post about the timeline as well. I struggle with the changes that have been made to the timeline. The timeline feels buggy since July 28. Is this something that will be solved in the near future?
Thanks for more information on what you're looking for in the scrubbing feature!
Your experience with the changes that have been made to the timeline has been submitted as a feature request. Any changes to that situation will be updated in your previous posts.
If there's anything else you need, please reach out!
