Timer Feature in Storyline 3
Aug 02, 2019
In Storyline 3, under the "colors and effects" options in the player properties, there is an option to adjust the colors of a timer. Yet, there is no function to turn this timer on, that I can find. In the SL3 and 36o player colors PDF, there are tips for how to change the colors.
How is the timer turned on or off? I have SL 3, latest updates, and no way that I can see to access the timer. It may be so super simple that I'm just not finding it, but I'm just not. How is this accessed? Or, is it NOT a feature in SL3, and if not, why is this even in the colors and effects options, and in the PDF?
I've included images.
Thanks!
Lisa

When you create a results slide for quiz questions, you'll see the option for a timer.
Hi Tom,
Thank you! Since I don't time quizzes, thus far, I totally missed it. It would be so nice if this timer could utilize the course properties estimated time and allow this to be a timer as a feature for completed and lapsed time.
I appreciate you taking the time to respond.
Cheers,
Lisa
Hi Lisa,
The estimated time you find in course properties is based on your slides and their overall timelines, but it doesn't take into account slides where a learner remains even when the timeline has finished or interactive elements. Using the quiz timer at the start of the first slide will let a learner see their overall time in the course and stop the quiz after the timer lapses.
We'd love to know more about what you'd like to see in Storyline if you're up for submitting a feature request!
