Tracking Incomplete/Complete based on slide views
Jan 28, 2015
Hi.
Are slide views counted on visit (whether or not the user consumed the content of a particular slide 100%) or to count as a "view" the user has to (if a video for instance) watch the whole length of a video on a slide to count as viewed?
I ask because I have some particular settings to follow to guarantee that a status is reported to an LMS. Basically I have to add a 1 sec "welcome" slide, a video slide, then a "thank you" slide to guarantee that even if the use closes the window, loses connection, cache doesn't work, whatever, the fact that they watched the video on slide 2 marks it as complete for them.
... and I don't want users to just click slide 1, quickly glance at slide 2 before the video is over, then click to slide 3 and the system mark as completed!
Thanks for any advice.

Hello Enzo!
When you use the slides viewed for tracking, it will mark complete as soon as the user gets to the slide. If you need them to complete a full video to be complete, I would suggest tracking by one more slide than where the video is shown.
Also, you could make the course restricted so they cannot bypass the video, or even disable the "next" button until the media completes.
Please give some suggestion on the same issue because even i have the same issues in tracking the individual slides
Hi Ragu,
I just responded to a similar conversation, but I just wanted to share the link for anyone that may be following along and we can continue the conversation there.
