Triggers/hyperlinks are not aligned with buttons
Feb 20, 2014
I recently launched an articulate storyline "employee portal" for my company.
One employee had a major issue with the hyperlinks. However, the hyperlinks in general tend to be a bit misaligned and the "finger" cursor is slow to show above hyperlinks or shows intermittently.
For this one user, the triggers are completely misaligned from where the actual hyperlink is supposed to be. My buttons look like the image below. The one user has to click outside of the button to trigger the links. Other employees are not having this problem. Additionally, everyone is using the Firefox web browser to view the file.
Has anyone seen this before?
More info:
I publish the project for web delivery and save it to our server. Employees then open the html5 link from our server.

Hi Melissa,
If it's only one person, I'd look into that person's settings a bit further. Also, you mentioned that they're using the html5 link and using Firefox, but for html5 content you'll want to use one of the supported browsers here.
Maybe you can help recommend a better solution. When I publish my project it gives me the options, I want to use just one shortcut for my employees to view the project - what's my best option given the following:
ioslaunch.html - obviously for IOS, won't work for our company computers.
launcher.html - Everything works except links to webpages - which are needed.
story.html - Again, Everything works except links to webpages
I really don't want to use these two because the image quality isn's as good:
story_html5.html - Everything works, webpages work - player and entire document is a bit blurry
story_unsupported.html - everything works except webpages - a bit blurry
Do you have a solution to why the weblinks will not open? The project looks so much better when it isn't in html5!
Any help is much appreciated, thank you!!
Hi Melissa,
Are you sending your users a link to access the course from the Published output folder? You'll need to load the course to a web server and direct your users to the course there. I'd recommend using the story.html link, and the hyperlinks won't necessarily work if you're testing locally. If you need a free web server to test or share your course through, you may want to look at these options:
I am sending the link from a published output folder. I will look into which web server will best fit for us, thanks so much!
Thanks for the update Melissa and if you need anything else let us know!
