Triggers not working in published story

Hello - can anyone suggest what I could try to correct this problem.

I've created a story where the learner selects one of three options for what happened next in a video.  Each video scenario is on a layer and is set to play automatically.  The user chooses a scenario by clicking a radio button.  I've set the trigger as show layer x  when the user clicks the submit button on condition radio button x's state is selected.  It works perfectly in preview but doesn't work in published mode.  I can't work out what's happening

Any ideas please?
