Trouble with IE8 and Storyline

Apr 10, 2013

Is anyone running across any issues with IE 8?  In particular a JavaScript error or an Action Script error?  Working with client to upload Articulate Storyline files into Saba and they get an Access Denied error saying it is a js error.  When we try locally with IE8 on we get a "ReferenceError Error #1069: Properly unloadAndStop not found on flash display. Loader and there is no default value." followed by a long list of at.articulate.bw.v2.0:bw...

Anyone have a clue what would be causing these issues.

Thanks

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Paul!

Looks like it's an issue with Flash, or Java. What version of Flash is installed on the system? From what I read on the Flash community, this can happen if you're running an older version of Flash.

Please try to make sure you have the latest version of Flash installed on the machine. You can find your current version by visiting the following Adobe site:

Find Version | Flash Player - Adobe

If you still see the error, can you try viewing the course in a different browser? Does the same thing happen?

Google Chrome

Mozilla Firefox

Let me know how it goes!

Thanks,

Christine

One of the computers we have in our office we know that is the issue.  But we have a client that use IE8 as their standard browser and claim with Flash 11.5 version they have similar issues.  They get the Access Denied error that seems like it is a javascript error.  THis is also putting it into their Saba LMS.

Are there any other IE8 Storyline issues out there we should look into more?

Thanks for your help on this.

Hi Paul,

They may need to check their Java version, if they're using a recent version of Flash.

Here's a page from Java that may help:

If the issue continues, we'd be happy to try and take a closer look at what's going on:
