Trying to add multiple Captivate swf's into a storyline scene
Apr 27, 2014
I am trying to add multiple captivate swf's into a single scene; one swf will be displayed on each slide; all swf's are interactive, and slide should change automatically once its swf finishes/completes; I have tried following options and I am facing hurdles in all of them; Can anyone suggest something else;
I inserted swf's as Movies and used Media Completes trigger to jump to the next slide; but it kills the swf interactivity. So its not for me to use in this scenario.
I inserted swf as flash object; interactivity survives but no media complete trigger support to change the slide; from somewhere I got the hint about using timeline completes trigger for flash swf; but it skips a great deal of content and assume the timeline to be completed earlier than it actually does.
I am not good at writing javascript codes so couldn't successfully transfer/change the variables from captivate to storyline to indicate the swf completion.
Any suggestions to use any of these with some modifications either in captivate or in articulate?

HI Najeeb.
Try using "Jump to next slide when time line ends", but make sure you are selecting the the timeline ends for that "Slide" not for a specific "swf" file. Hope this would work
Thanks Rehan,
I have tried that, but it behaves the same; skips a couple of captivate slides.
Can you please share .story file so i can check it????
Hi Najeeb and welcome to Heroes!
I also wanted to point out that if you embed a Flash file as the swf, it won't be associated with the slides timeline as described here.
Was there ever a solution to this? I'm having the same issue.
When i add an interactive SWF... i can't figure out a way to trigger on completion of that interaction.
Hi Helene,
There isn't a way to utilize a trigger associated with the start or completion of an SWF object as it's not synchronized with the slides' timeline as detailed here.
