Hello! This seems like it should be something simple, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I have some videos that I just want to play when the slide opens, then stop at the end. I don't want the user to be able to pause the video when they click on it. I've disabled the seek bar, but the pause/play when they click on the video remains on. How do I get it to not do that?
My normal response to this is to add a transparent shape over the video. To do this you need to add a shape and fill it with a solid colour, then go to 'format shape' options and set the transparency to 100% - if you just choose 'no fill' the learner will still be able to click on the video.
You'd need to disable the "show video controls" on the video itself, but that would also remove the bar which shows the time of the video and how much is left. There is no way to "disable" just that element other than Harri's suggestion.
A simpler suggestion is to add a hotspot overlay on the video to avoid making it clickable. Moreover, if you want the hand cursor to not appear on hover over the video (suggesting that it's clickable), you can delete the hotspot's action in the trigger panel. Hope this helps.
Hello, I´ve implemented all of your tips and it works fine.
Here comes the question: After urging the studend to see all content, he is able to freely click on any module and see the content again. Now, I want to give the student the contols over a screencast or video.

Thanks, Harri! Hopefully there's some way to turn it off with the settings on the video, but at least this way the users can't fiddle with it.

Hi Regina,
I tried the same. But I am still able to pause the video :(
I had made the shape 100% transparent in Format Shape option but still the video is clickable :(
Oh I did it! :)
The timeline of the shape was not at the correct place. Thanks
Happy to see you got this working Somya! These older discussions have a lot of helpful tips.

Any idea?
Thanks a lot, Ulf
You could add a trigger that changes the state of the transparent 'cover' object to Hidden When media video_xyz completes.
Thank you Michael, I tried, but when I coose "change state" under Object drop down it only shows me the screencast, no way to select the hotspot.
That's because hotspots do not have states. Instead of a hotspot, use a transparent shape to cover the video.
Fabulous thanks.
