unable to add a photo to a web object placeholder

Jul 03, 2019

Following this tip AS360 crashes every time - I need to add a picture as the placeholder image is no good.  Doesn't matter if I use an image from file or content library.  I asm using latest version of AS360.

Tip: When you don’t load the web object automatically, it's helpful to give the placeholder a meaningful image, so learners know what it represents. To do so, right-click the web object placeholder and select Change Picture. Browse to the image you want to use and click Open. If you change your mind about the image you added, right-click it again and select Reset Picture.

Also can any one tell me why a Web Object would work better than using a simple 'Jump to Url' trigger?

Cheers

Hi Ric,

I tried both Hyperlink and web objects on my project and and i was able to add/change the picture without any problem, either a local file or from content library. I suggest to open a ticket to support so they can investigate what happen with the help of the logs you provided.

Regarding your question about using hyperlink and web objects, i think they are both useful but the only difference i can see is on web objects, you have the options to display it on the slide or external browser and you can load it automatically without clicking.

Hi S,

So sorry Storyline 360 crashes every time you try to add an image placeholder.

Are you on the latest update of Storyline 360? To check, click the Help tab, then click About Storyline. You should see 3.30.19518.0 in the bottom-right corner.

If you haven't installed that update yet, give that a try, and let me know if you see an improvement!
